Los Angeles, California – 180 South will debut with a never-before-seen preview of its new brand of high-end mountaineering and camping tents, backpacks and sleeping bags, at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, booth BR 515 (in the Salt Palace ballroom).
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with 180 South Design and Development Director Chris Meesey. With years of extensive experience in the outdoor industry, Meesey has brought to market three Backpacker Magazine Editor’s Choice products and won a Gear of the Year award from Outside Magazine.
180 South gear is built of top-of-industry materials — such as Cordura and Pertex fabrics, DAC tent poles and Climashield insulation – to provide a unique combination of lightness, durability, comfort and performance for all seasons and all types of journeys.
This preview is a sampling of the full 180 South line that will be available for delivery in 2012.
180 South Preview Highlights:
Tents – Free standing 4-season tunnel tents and 3-season hard-use tents, built with DAC’s lightest weight aluminum poles and Cordura fabrics for strength, lightness, endurance and UV resistance.
Backpacks – 180 South’s unique suspension system is ergonomically ideal, easy-to-adjust and scalable. Backpacks for extended trekking, week long trips, summit trips, day trips and more. Built of Cordura fabrics, aircraft-aluminum perimeter rods, and high-strength thermo-formed composite suspension panels.
Down Mummy Bags – Ultra-light waterproof down bags. Shells of Pertex 15 denier yarns and filled with some of the world’s highest quality down — certified 800-850 fill power down. Interlocking trapezoidal chamber construction produces the best lofting for uniform warmth.
Synthetic Mummy Bags – 180 South provides the highest ratio of weight to compressibility to CLO value. Shells of Cordura micro-denier yarns and filled with Climashield Apex and High Loft Green insulation.
