SCHILLER PARK, Ill. (August 25, 2008) – Situated amongst the Red Rocks in St. George, Utah, Fitness Ridge Resort and Spa was designed as a health vacation destination six years ago through the dedicated vision of husband-and-wife team, Cameron and Michelle Kelsh. This health and fitness, weight loss resort provides guests with a one-week minimum program featuring daily exercise, nutritious food and educational classes on healthy living.
The Kelshs saw a need for a health vacation resort – a place where teens and adults of all ages, abilities and sizes could come to learn about healthy living and exercise, and transform their lives for the better. The beautiful backdrop and encouraging staff made the resort an instant success, and bookings have steadily increased over the years. When the demand for bookings outgrew the existing facilities, it provided the Kelshs with the opportunity to expand and build a brand new space for guests.
The Kelshs turned to Life Fitness to help build a state-of-the-art fitness center at the resort that would engage guests during their workouts. As lifetime exercisers, the Kelshs knew they wanted to fill the new facility with high-quality, easy-to-use products and felt confident in the expert hands at Life Fitness.
“When we had the opportunity to build a new fitness center, we wanted equipment that could accommodate our guests who come from all walks of life,†said Michelle Kelsh. “Our guests are trying to transform their lives, so a beautiful workout space with high-quality equipment helps keep them going while they’re with us.â€
Life Fitness advised the Kelshs on developing a comprehensive fitness center for their guests that contained equipment that was easy-to-use and also provided user motivation. A custom layout included a full line of Life Fitness Signature Series strength equipment along with treadmills, elliptical cross-trainers and Lifecycle Exercise Bikes.
“Cameron and Michelle Kelsh are helping make fitness a way of life for teens and adults of all ages and abilities,†said John Stransky, president of Life Fitness. “Fitness Ridge Resort and Spa guests are striving to make life-changing choices about their health, and we hope our equipment enables exercisers to realize their goals of leading healthier, happier lives long after they leave the resort.â€
Today, the Fitness Ridge Resort and Spa serves up to 80 to 100 guests per week, all of whom use the fitness center four-to-five hours per day. The equipment is used for personal training and classes, including a cardio interval class using 30 Life Fitness treadmills, and a circuit-training class using both strength and cardio equipment.
“We’ve had so much success in the new fitness center that we plan to double our workout space with more Life Fitness equipment,†Kelsh says.
The Fitness Ridge Resort and Spa features accommodations for up to 100 people and features an outdoor pool, full service spa and workout facility.
