FITS Socks Announces Sponsorship of the Buena Vista Racing MTB
BV Racing gets kids on bikes, working with youth in Buena Vista, CO for lifelong activities and adventure.

BUENA VISTA, CO, November 11, 2011 – FITS Socks Co., the maker of the best FITting socks available, with Full Contact Fit tm is proud to announce sponsorship of the Buena Vista Racing MTB, a community based bike-racing team that works directly with local business sponsors to raise awareness of youth engaging in healthy outdoor activities.

BV Racing was initially conceived as a project to provide additional options for youth in Buena Vista, CO for lifelong activities and adventure. This concept tied directly into the Colorado Mountain Bike League, founded around the same time; which allowed kids to ride, race, & develop friendships across the state.

With the leadership of Jon Bernard an avid biker, climber, outdoorsman and educator, in no time, BV Racing evolved into a group of 12-16 kids (ages 14-18yrs) riding alongside 10-12 volunteer adults from the community. The team now practices and competes across Colorado, keeping up with the best in the industry; as a youth team comprised of entirely at risk kids racing against top level competition throughout Colorado, BV Racing is ranked 6th out of 23 teams. At top level competitions like the TEVA Games in Vail, Colorado, these young competitors are taking podium finishes.

“All the kids,30 in all, were super stoked to get new socks right before our 3rd race. While it may be difficult to claim the socks made all… the difference in the results, but our team and Salida racing competed with great fanfare. Salida Racing won the day as a team with 1st place, 3rd place, and numerous top 10 finishers in all categories. Salida Racing is sitting 2nd overall in the state. BV Racing accomplished well above expected with a 1st, 5th, 9th, and top 20 finish. We are now 5th overall in the state.” Team Leader- Jon Bernard.
