The North Face has named Fleet Feet Sports of Huntsville, AL winner of the inaugural The North Face Never Stop Exploring Award, recognizing the specialty running store that demonstrates the most complete dedication to encouraging and enabling outdoor participation within the community. The Huntsville store was selected for its commitment to encouraging youth residents to participate in the annual Cotton Row Run 1-Mile race through Starting Line – an 8-week kids training program.
“Fleet Feet Sports has done an incredible job of encouraging both kids and parents to get outside and run together,” said The North Face VP of Sales Todd Spaletto, who presented the award to Fleet Feet Sports owners Dink and Suzanne Taylor at The Running Event 2010 conference and expo for running specialty stores in Austin, TX. “It is programs like these that build community and awareness around the benefits of getting outside. We are proud to support Fleet Feet Sports’ work in building this successful program.”
In recognition of Fleet Feet Sports’ contribution to the Huntsville community, The North Face will donate $3,000 to help build the program. The North Face created the Never Stop Exploring Award in an effort to encourage communities to initiate local programs in support of the outdoors. The award recognizes programs that embody a lifelong passion for the outdoors and create a better world for our young athletes to explore in.
