TRUCKEE, CALIF — SEPTEMBER 25, 2017
Flylow (www.flylowgear.com), the independent, homegrown and mountain-raised creators of outerwear and apparel, was honored this month with POWDER Magazine Skier’s Choice Awards for its women’s Billie Coat and Donna Pant.
“To make the best gear, you’ve got to be willing to listen to what people really want. We talked to pros, to retailer, to friends and to our families. The Billie and Donna combination delivers an exceptional fit with Flylow durability and modern style,” said Dan Abrams, co-founder of Flylow.
The Billie coat, part of Flylow’s Z Line – the brand’s highest performance collection – is a three-layer hardshell ski jacket with a helmet-compatible hood, ample ventilation, and boasts six pockets to hold everything from lip balm to a season pass. Made with the lightweight and stretchy, 20k/20k waterproof breathable Intuitive™ fabric, the Billie moves with each turn, whether that’s on the mountain or trucking the family around town. MSRP: $400
The Donna pant, part of Flylow’s Deeper Collection – the brand’s heritage collection – is made with a tough and stretchy, waterproof, breathable, three-layer softshell fabric. As flattering as they are functional, the Donna pant features inner and outer thigh vents for cross-flow ventilation, 500 denier Cordura reinforced cuffs to protect from ski edges and boots, and an infinitely adjustable waistband. MSRP: $325
Each year, the POWDER staff tests and reviews gear at its annual event—Thread The Needle. Over the course of the week they ski in and inspect each piece for fit, functionality, and style. Using the feedback from the event, Powder selects its Skier’s Choice Award winners and other select pieces to be highlighted in its 2018 Apparel Guide.
The POWDER Magazine 2018 Apparel Guide is available on newsstands now. An extended online version of the guide is available at Powder.com and includes the Flylow men’s Lab Coat and Quantum jacket.
