Focus Bicycles USA Announces North American Debut of its SAM2 e-MTB

Focus Bikes today announced the North American arrival of its popular Focus SAM2 e-mountain bike. The SAM2, which the company introduced in Europe last October, opens a completely new category of long travel, enduro e-MTB. It completes a robust 2018 e-bike collection for the North American market and will begin shipping to retailers in May.
“At Interbike last year, we successfully launched the JAM² and Focus BOLD² models, which represented an important step for the brand in North America,” said Andreas Krajewski, the North American marketing manager of Focus Bikes.
He continued, “The addition of our Focus SAM2 e-Enduro further enhances our appeal to dealers and consumers.”
Krajewski expects the 170 mm-travel Focus SAM2 to appeal to an entirely different rider than those typically riding e-MTBs at present.
“The Focus SAM² shows again that Focus is one of the most innovative e-bike brands,” he said. “It’s a great enduro bike for technical downhills and for those who want to bypass the chairlift to get up the mountain on their bike.”
The Focus SAM2 includes two of Focus’ unique and patented designs. The first is Focus Optimized Linkage Design (F.O.L.D.) kinematics, a suspension design that ensures a perfectly balanced combination of stability and sensitivity.
The second is Focus’ Tailored Energy Concept (T.E.C.), an adjustable power system that offers battery capacity of up to 756 watt hours, cleverly distributed over two equally powered batteries.
Pricing for the new Focus SAM2 is US $5,999/CAD $7,999 and will be available in two color options, Burgundy/Red and Irongray Matte.
