Industry veteran William (Bill) Glenn named as Regional Manager for Hero Cycles
Hero Cycles is very excited to announce that Bill Glenn has joined the company as Regional Manager. Bill began his bicycle career in 1977 with the Schwinn Bicycle Company. Bill became the bicycle warehouse manager in 1981, providing him with a key understanding of the back room part of the business. In 1986, Bill moved into a sales role when he was promoted to District Sales Manager of the Kansas City region. After greatly expanding sales in that market, Bill was rewarded with a move to Colorado as manager of the Western region. Bill made great strides with that territory and remained in that role until 2003. He then decided to leave the industry due to the changes in Schwinn’s business model. During Bill’s tenure of 26 years at Schwinn, he received numerous sales awards and was twice awarded the title of Schwinn Salesman of the Year.
In 2003, Bill moved to the fitness industry as part of the Nautilus sales staff. At Nautilus Bill proved to be a vital part of developing the IBD market as the company expanded its product offering to that market. Later he served as manager for a combined IBD/Specialty territory and even proved his ability to adapt as he served as a fitness sales trainer in half of the United States. Bill also played a key role in launching the BowFlex and the Select Tech products to the retail world by managing a $50 million territory. Bill has remained a key figure in the fitness industry over the past few years, but has remained in constant contact with his first passion, the bicycle business.
We are very excited that Bill has chosen to become a part of the Hero family in the United States. Bill’s integrity, his wealth of experience in the retail world and his history as a veteran of the bicycle industry will prove very valuable as we introduce the Hero brand to the North American market.
