Three key former leaders of the USDA Forest Service have joined Choose Outdoors as advisors to the coalition of outdoor recreation stakeholders. The advisors will provide strategic input to the development of the nonprofit focused on recreation on America’s national forests. The newly appointed advisors are:
Lyle Laverty, former assistant secretary of Interior for Fish, Wildlife and Parks, former USDA Forest Service Rocky Mountain Regional Forester, former Director Colorado State Parks
Bernie Weingardt, former USDA Forest Service Regional Forester for California, former National Partnership Coordinator for the USDA Forest Service, current chair National Forest Foundation Leadership Council
Denny Bschor, former USDA Regional Forester Alaska, former director of Recreation, Heritage and Wilderness for the USDA Forest Service.
