Monticello, UT – Four Corners School of Outdoor Education, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating life long learning experiences on and about the Colorado Plateau is pound to announce they have recently received a grant from the Clif Bar Family Foundation. The grant will support Four Corners Schools Canyon Country Youth Corps (CCYC), primarily serving Navajo youth. CCYC crewmembers maintain natural resources in scenic locations on the Colorado Plateau like the Colorado River near Moab, UT; San Juan, Dolores, and Escalante Rivers, and/or Canyonlands and Arches National Parks. They live on site for 4-24 weeks at a time, working hard to maintain natural resources that millions enjoy every year.

According to Diana Galindo, former CCYC Crew Leader and now CCYC staff at Four Corners, “Youth Corps are a positive experience. Crews work hard all day in tough conditions, but see many beautiful sights, enjoy each other’s company, and develop relationships and job skills that endure for years. Participants, myself included, gain skills they retain for the rest of their lives.” Janet Ross, Executive Director of Four Corners School agrees, “We sincerely appreciate the grant from the Clif Bar Family Foundation. In this tough fiscal climate, it’s a challenge to keep Canyon Country Youth Corps running. The participants receive valuable life skills and job training, and the rest of us enjoy the resources they protect, so Clif’s investment in these kids is a wise one.”

Four Corners School is presently seeking partners to help support our Service, Adventure, Education, and Conservation programs as well as help us build our new campus, the Canyon Country Discovery Center. For more information about how you can partner with Four Corners School to create the next generation of happy, active, outdoor enthusiasts, contact Janet Ross, Executive Director of the Four Corners School at jross@fourcornersschool.org
