Fox River Mills, an Osage, Iowa-based sock manufacturing company, is donating $1 from every sale of their new HERA sock to the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation. The high-performance HERA sock is a limited-edition product for Fox River’s women’s line. The sock is highlighted with a teal streak, the official color symbolizing ovarian cancer awareness. The sock retails for $10 and is available at www.foxsox.com.

The sock is a high-performance blend of Ingeoâ„¢, the first man-made fiber derived from 100% natural, annually renewable resources like corn. Ingeoâ„¢ is quick drying and has excellent wicking properties that transport moisture away from the foot. It features a high-density cushioned sole and arch with added ventilation, ideal for running, hiking or walking.

Fox River began making socks in 1900 and has been at the forefront of the industry ever since. They were the first company to make a sock designed to fit the natural curvature of a woman’s foot. The HERA sock is an example of their continued commitment to their female customers.

“Fox River has established itself in the outdoor industry as progressive and innovative in their technology, as well as highly committed to remaining environmentally and socially aware,” says HERA founder Sean Patrick. “In addition to their extensive green building, they have been highly involved in many charitable events and partnerships. We are excited to have such an outstanding company partnering with us to support the HERA Foundation.”

Fox River has been working with the HERA Foundation since the inception of the Climb4Life fundraising event in 2002, donating socks for the events held in Utah, Colorado and the metro Washington, D.C., area.
