Ten pairs will be given out to award-winning documentary
SALT LAKE CITY – SOG® Specialty Knives & Tools is teaming up with 13-time Paralympic Medalist Chris Waddell to give attendees at the 2013 Outdoor Retailer Summer Show a film adventure to remember. Ten pairs of tickets to the July 31 showing of Waddell’s inspirational film “1Revolution” will be given out in the SOG® booth. The tickets will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.
“1Revolution” chronicles Waddell’s extraordinary achievement of becoming the first person to make an almost entirely unassisted paraplegic ascent of Africa’s 19,340-foot Mt. Kilimanjaro.
The movie will be shown at Brewvies Cinema Pub (677 South 200 West) from 5- 7 p.m. on the opening day of OR. SOG’s booth (#120) is conveniently located in the main hallway of the Salt Palace Convention Center, close to the escalators.
“We’re just beginning a working relationship with Chris and we’re taking this opportunity to help promote this incredible documentary,” said Chris Cashbaugh, Senior Marketing Manager for SOG. “We’ll have 10 pairs of tickets ready to hand out to the first 10 folks who stop by our booth and want to see this extraordinary movie. No strings attached. All people have to do is ask.”
Waddell was a promising collegiate skier until a ski accident left him paralyzed from the waist down in 1988. Since then, he’s gone on to become the most decorated male skier in Paralympic history. In 2009, he became the first paraplegic to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro unassisted, a feat that director Amanda Stoddard turned into the award-winning “1Revolution.”
