(Grand Junction, CO – April 5, 2012) Fruita Singletrack™ announces April fund-raising events to support expansion of world-class singletrack trail near Fruita, Colorado.
Originally home to the Ute Indians, Fruita’s history as a fruit-producing region on the western edge of western Colorado’s Grand Valley has been replaced with a vivacious outdoor recreation-based tourism economy. These days, globe-trotting mountain bikers consider this small town a bucket-list destination for epic singletrack riding. And more epic trail is on the way.
The Fruita Singletrack project is comprised of nearly 19 miles of new trail, of which 14 miles are multi-use, and 4.5 miles are within the ‘bicycle emphasis’ area. The first two trails received final approval from the BLM March 30th, and construction will begin immediately. “Anne’s Pump Track†will be built primarily through trailbuilding contractor, Singletrack Trails. The second trail, “Zip Offâ€, will be built with Western Colorado Conservation Corps (WCCC) crews, and with volunteer labor organized by COPMOBA.
To fund the trailbuilding, Fruita Singletrack is kicking off a series of fundraisers through the month of April. Behold:
