Vancouver, B.C. (September 9, 2013) – G3’s ZenOxide skis, which are some of the lightest for their size, are now available for purchase at retailers. Now a series with three skis, the ZenOxides are getting even lighter with carbon-fiber construction. Designed to go uphill easily, without compromising downhill performance, the ZenOxide Carbon series is truly the best of both worlds for the dedicated backcountry skier.
G3 ZenOxide C3 105 – Constructed with 100-percent stitched carbon fiber laminates wrapping a wood core for the ultimate in weight savings and responsiveness, the 105 mm underfoot ZenOxide C3 105 bridges the gap between lightness for the tour and performance for the downhill. It tips the scales at a featherweight 2.9 lbs. per ski (167cm), setting the standard in lightweight backcountry skis of its width. In addition to using full carbon-fiber construction, G3 achieves further weight savings by combining a light Poplar/Paulownia core with vertical cap construction. On the downhill, a 131 mm shovel and early-rise tip means easy initiation and effortless turning in the full range of backcountry snow conditions. (131/105/123; 2.9 lbs. per ski in 167cm). $849.95
G3 ZenOxide C 93 – Created for backcountry skiers looking for the best of all worlds in a ski light enough for long tours, the ZenOxide C 93 combines excellent floatation and agile camber lines to create a fun, responsive backcountry ski. Evolved from G3’s popular Saint, the 93 mm waist and early rise tip nails the all-mountain shape that so many ski guides and backcountry travellers love. G3’s CarbonLight construction keeps things light by melding partial carbon fiber wraps around a Poplar/Paulownia hybrid wood core, surrounded by a light, vertical cap construction. (122/93/113; 3.1 lbs. per ski in 170). $659.95.
G3 ZenOxide C 88 – G3’s lightest ski, the ZenOxide C 88, provides the ultimate blend of tourability for fast ascents and long tours in a package that still delivers on the performance side. With a 120 mm early rise tip and 88 underfoot, the ZenOxide C 88 keeps things light with G3’s CarbonLight construction by melding partial carbon fiber wraps around a Poplar/Paulownia hybrid wood core, surrounded by a light, vertical cap construction. A worthy successor to the Spitfire LT, the ZenOxide C 88 can handle the gamut of backcountry conditions, from climbing a volcano to fun and stable descents through crud, corn, suncups and beyond. (120/88/111; 2.6 lbs. per ski in 157). $619.95.
