Exeter, NH (June 10, 2019) – For Spring 2020 Garmont® will deliver an all new line of hiking boots and light hiking shoes, built on a new last shape that will make North Americans very happy. They will feel a secure heel hold, supportive midfoot and room for the toes to do their thing – balance and stabilize.

“The Garmont Italian based product team has more than 50 years of experience sculpting beautifully shaped lasts,” said Bill Dodge, CEO of Garmont North America. “The company still believes this is the most important ingredient for finding the best balance between comfort and performance. It is not an easy task especially considering the differing foot shapes around the globe.”

In addition, surrounding the new foot shape are Garmont’s Anatomically Directed Design (a.d.d.) features including; Precision lacing, Anatomical Tongue Shape, Differential Ankle Pockets, Asymmetrical Ankle Heights and a Roomy Toe Box.

For Spring 2020 Garmont focuses on revamping their entire hiking collection and the target market is North America. Most of the new collection will utilize the new last. The G-Trek ($200 msrp) is a lightweight but rugged boot crafted in Garmont tradition. The wrap-around Vibram® outsole and PU midsole make it a capable boot for heavier loads. The new last also features the erGo shape underfoot for superior foot hold. Added security comes from Garmont’s Heel Lock system that also results in an impressive balance of performance and fit.

The G-Trail ($180) is a versatile over the ankle hiker with more modern styling. It is perfect for ready-to-go anytime outdoor activities. The G-Trail will be available in Gore-Tex and non-waterproof versions for drier climates.

For Ultra-Light Hiking, Garmont expands the 9.81 series. These models also boast a roomier toe box. Don’t let the athletic look fool you. These are built to be tough hikers utilizing an exclusive Michelin® lugged outsole. The 9.81 N Air G comes in a Mid ($180) and Low ($160) for women and men with Gore-Tex Surround. The 9.81 will also be available in a model called the “Bolt” ($140). This version is not waterproof, instead it is built to have 360 degrees of wrap-around breathability.
