Hendersonville, NC (Monday, May 2, 2016)- Gaston Farmer, ascended the ranks of specialty outdoor retail after immersing himself in the industry five years ago at Rock/Creek Outfitters in Chattanooga, TN. “I started as a retail sales associate, folding shirts, geeking out on new technology, and learning to make connections with customers. I was looking to grow as a person and within the company.” Realizing his passion for community building and for the outdoors, he found a deep connection with his new found career. Gaston developed quickly and ultimately managed R/C’s flagship location and mentored new floor staff.
Gaston joined the OSM team March 2016 after completing a solo Continental Divide ride. There he tested his mental fortitude and most of the products we sell. Today he is traveling our territory and in stores working with staff to build their confidence and credibility for consumer interaction. “We are extremely pleased to have Gaston on our team, he is a natural fit. He sets a high standard in terms of work ethic, user credibility, and product knowledge,” said Nolan Davis, co-owner of Outdoor Sports Marketing.
Gaston stated he is “honored and thrilled to accept a position with Outdoor Sports Marketing”. “We are clearly glad to have him on our team. He has all the foundation for success. He recognizes there is a special connection that occurs when a person is sharing information, whether product based knowledge or experience based, regardless, it is a shared experience at the intersection of passion and product” said Rion Smith, co-owner of Outdoor Sports Marketing.
