March 30, 2015. Charlottesville, VA – Generation UCAN, the revolutionary nutrition powered by SuperStarch, will be the official on-course nutrition at the Miller Lite Charlottesville Marathon. The race, which includes the Donate Virginia Marathon Relay, a Half Marathon, the Virginia Blood Services 8K and the Kids K, is set for Saturday, April 4th. Over 2,000 runners will participate and experience what has been voted “one of the most scenic races on the East Coast” by Running Times Magazine.

UCAN SuperStarch is an all-natural, easily digested, slow-releasing carbohydrate that delivers steady energy and helps maintain stable blood sugar levels during exercise. “Generation UCAN is excited to be the Nutrition Sponsor of a fantastic marathon in a beautifully historic site” says Peter Kaufmann, Executive Vice President at the UCAN Company. “We are thrilled all Charlottesville Marathon participants will have the opportunity to finally experience a race with steady energy and ideal hydration without gastric discomfort. We welcome them to a whole new world, and look forward to their experiencing “the UCAN Feeling” throughout the race!”

“At the Charlottesville Marathon and all other Bad to the Bone events, we not only strive to give participants the best experience possible, but also the tools and knowledge to better their running and performance” says Dr. Francesca Conte, President of Bad to the Bone Endurance Sports. “By partnering with UCAN, we provide to all the runners at the Charlottesville Marathon a new way to fuel during a race or training run, one not dependent on high-glycemic index sugars and blood glucose spikes. Our “UCAN RUN CVILLE!” campaign allows participants to try the product and then use it during the event. As an endurance athletes myself, I have experienced first hand the benefits of racing and training with UCAN.” The UCAN Fuel Stations will be approximately at miles 5.2, 7, 9.6, 11.1, 13, 18 and 22 and will serve the UCAN SuperStarch drink mix and the UCAN Hydrate electrolyte replacement.

Runners are encouraged to share their experiences and stories about UCAN by using the hash tag: “UCANRUNCVILLE”. UCAN will also be present at the Running and Fitness Expo on the Friday and Saturday of the event. The Miller Lite Charlottesville Marathon, Half Marathon, Donate Virginia Marathon Relay, Virginia Blood Services 8k and Kids K will take place on April 4th, 2015.
