Generator Group Announces Placement for CFO Position

PORTLAND, Ore. — Generator Group, a boutique search and talent management consulting firm, announces the successful search and placement of the position Chief Financial Officer for Specialized Bicycle Components, Inc.

After 30 years, Specialized has evolved into a global company while staying true to its commitment to quality and performance. Cody Johns, Recruitment Programs Manager, and Jeremy Barnaby, Partner and COO, worked closely on the search utilizing Generator Group’s innovative Surehire recruiting methodology designed to deliver high quality hires. Out of more than 400 possible applicants, Cody narrowed the list to 38 candidates to interview and subsequently presented 18 to Specialized.

“The challenges in filling this role included identifying a CFO candidate who had experience in large global companies, as well as smaller, entrepreneurial organizations. Ideally the candidate had to bring experience with a leading brand in the outdoor consumer hard goods space,” Cody stated. Additionally, Specialized required a candidate who had “end user experience in road or mountain biking, and knowledge of relevant distribution channels such as specialty cycle shops, sporting goods retailers, and knowledge of relevant supply chain and manufacturing processes.”

Maintaining focus on key objectives, appropriate evaluation tools and techniques resulted the successful selection of Joe Brunetti as Chief Financial Officer. Brunetti, previously the CFO at CamelBak for 8 years where the company grew approximately 35% per year during that time, has accepted the position as CFO at Specialized.
