Nuremberg, Germany –More than 170 exhibitors are preparing to greet the movers and shakers of the international paddlesports market at PADDLEexpo 2012.
Again in Nuremberg, Germany, the trade show will showcase products and trends from around the globe Sept. 18-20, including kayaks, canoes, stand-up boards, inflatables, fold-ups, accessories and more.
Underscoring the international importance of the show, more than 50 percent of exhibitors and half of the expected 1,400 attendees will come from outside of Germany to peruse products and trends exhibited in the more than 75,000-square-foot exhibition hall. Plus, this will be the first year the former „Kanumesse“ acknowledges its international draw with its new PADDLEexpo name.
SUP trend continues
Now part of the mainstream paddle market, stand-up paddling or SUP remains the fastest-growing segment among watersports. It now includes races, clubs and a large enthusiastic following, including many who were not previously paddlers, making it a vital segment for both retailers and exhibitors. PADDLEexpo shows off the SUP sector in its own show-within-a-show, SUP Expo.
Scandinavian Outdoor Group takes on a village
Now traditional at many outdoor shows, the „SOG“ group of Scandinavian paddlesports manufacturers will be represented in their own area, along with the West Sweden Tourism Association, which will discuss the beauty of its area’s classic paddling opportunities.
Special showcase: Transporting gear
Getting boats and gear to recreational areas is always a challenge; thus, PADDLEexpo 2012 will showcase all of the new products and innovative solutions. That includes roof racks, loading aids and accessories, trailers, carriers and carts, as well as transportable gear such as fold-up and inflatable boards and boats. To help attendees, special seminars and presentations will be held during the show to demonstrate and discuss these products and trends.
Industry celebrates retailers
Industry Retailer Party on the second evening of the show not only provides all attendees a relaxed and casual atmosphere to share experiences and make new friends, but also gives show director Horst Fürsattel an opportunity to connect the outdoor areas to the industry gathering. This evening – a tradition since the first „Kanumesse“ in 2003 — focuses on retailers, who are mutual guests of all exhibitors who share the costs.
PADDLEexpo (www.PADDLEexpo.com) remains the global meeting place of the paddlesports industry, including buyers, manufacturers, importers, retailers large and small, media and associations, and is sponsored by the German Canoe Federation. There is no cost, although attendance is limited to trade professionals (registration required). This year, the halls will be open on Sept. 18-19 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., closing at 4 p.m. on Sept. 20.
