G.I. Joe's Announces Grand Opening of Eastern Washington Store

G.I. Joe's, the Northwest Sports, Outdoor & More store, announced the grand opening of a new store in Kennewick, Washington, its first store east of the Washington Cascades.

WILSONVILLE, Ore., May 2 — G.I. Joe’s, the Northwest Sports, Outdoor & More store, announced the grand opening of a new store in Kennewick, Washington, its first store east of the Washington Cascades. G.I. Joe’s offers famous brand apparel, products and services for the Northwest sports and outdoor enthusiast. G.I. Joe’s store is located at 7011 W Canal Drive in Kennewick, WA. The opening is scheduled for the first weekend in May.

“Having a G.I. Joe’s in the Tri-Cities area now makes it possible for advanced sports and outdoor enthusiasts to find the expertise and technical gear they want, yet still allows recreational outdoor customers to find great brands and pricing,” said Mike Murphy, manager of the Kennewick store.

In keeping with its commitment to connect with each community, G.I. Joe’s Foundation will award several $1000 grants to local not-for-profit organizations at its ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 5th. Kennewick’s mayor, James Beaver, and Kris Johnson, President of Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce will officiate. The community is invited to attend events offering gift cards for the first 500 customers on Friday, kids’ trout fishing on Saturday, and guide service clinics and product demonstrations throughout the weekend.

“This is the largest grand opening we’ve had in the past few years. We have giveaways and demonstrations from local, regional and major national brands, and lots of activities for all ages,” says Reese Thedford, Promotions Manager for G.I. Joe’s.

Located in the former Wal-Mart building, the Tri-Cities G.I. Joe’s is expected to employ 60 local residents, and draw customers from throughout the Mid-Columbia area.
