Asheville, N.C. (June 10, 2010) – Girls at Play and Adventure Technology (AT Paddles) is pleased to announce their continued and strengthened partnership. AT has been a long-term supporter of the kayaking program, providing paddles for all Girls at Play participants.
AT is the paddle of choice for Anna Levesque, founder of Girls at Play and world-class kayaker. “When I first started using AT paddles over 7 years ago, a friend told me that I would never go back to using a straight shaft paddle because of how good AT paddles feel and perform. He was right! The performance, feel and quality of AT paddles enhance my skills, performance and enjoyment on the water – whether play boating or river running.â€
In addition to providing demo paddles, AT has donated an AT Eddy
paddle ($329 value) for one Girls at Play Summer Tour participant. The AT Eddy is a lightweight and exceedingly durable paddle with a slightly buoyant, bright red blade. It is a high quality option for any whitewater boater, with a rigidity particularly suited to play boating and creeking.
“We are 100-percent behind Anna’s mission to encourage more women to whitewater kayak,†said Chris Pageau, general manager of Adventure Technology. “Her Girls at Play program and tour have been a major force in teaching the full spectrum of whitewater adventure. With the emphasis on fun and support, Anna and her team inspire paddlers to challenge themselves within their own goals – whether that’s a Class II day run or a Class V creek. Girls at Play and AT share a dedication to excellence, fun and exploration.â€
The Girls at Play Summer Tour will kick off June 12, 2010, at Green River Adventures in Saluda, N.C., teaching and inspiring female paddlers of all levels. Participants will have the opportunity to demo Dagger Kayaks, AT paddles, Kokatat PFDs and dry tops, and Shred Ready helmets. For more info, visit the Water Girls at Play website.

About Adventure Technology:
In 1993, an idea for the first, whitewater-specific, ergonomic paddle was borne. That idea grew into Adventure Technology (AT), a paddle maker who doesn’t seek to “balance†adventure with technology, but rather seeks to push both concepts to the outer limits. AT now delivers premium whitewater and touring paddles known for excellence in design, craftsmanship and innovation. In 2009, AT joined the rest of the Confluence Watersports family in Easley, S.C., to continue its legacy of dedicated research and development, all in the name of a good adventure. www.atpaddle.com.
