Frameless design with elegant new Quick-Change lens system and clean, bold style
January 2017 (Santa Cruz, California)Giro Sport Design, the industry leader in progressive head protection and snow sports optics, proudly introduces its new Axis & Ella, a frameless goggle design with a clean, bold style that features and is a flagship for Giro’s pioneering VIVID Lens Technology with unprecedented optical clarity and contrast. The new magnetically-assisted Quick Change lens system makes it easier to adapt to changing light conditions, while new EVAK Vent Technology unveils superior durability and moisture management. Both goggles will be available Fall 2017 for MSRP $180.
VIVID lenses, a new technology for the winter 2017/2018 season, was developed by Giro in partnership with ZEISS Optics, the global authority in quality optics. The new lenses are designed specifically for snow-light conditions to enhance contrast, reduce eyestrain, improve reaction time, boost confidence and deliver precise vision without color over saturation by effectively manipulating blue light experienced on-snow.
The new Quick Change lens system utilizes two self-locating magnets that facilitate lightning fast lens replacement and four snap pins keep the lens securely locked in place.
EVAK Vent Technology provides an ultra-durable, breathable and hydrophobic venting system. Utilizing a three-layer DWR treated material, EVAK vents minimize the chance of fogging by releasing moisture while simultaneously creating a barrier from the elements.
