Darius Heristchian, Mattia Berardi, and Travis Tomczak Bolster Growing Team
(January 21, 2016 – Santa Cruz, CA) –Giro Sport Design has recently added three talented individuals to join their growing Giro Snow division. Darius Heristchian has been brought on to strengthen the European force as the EMEA Category Manager, while Mattia Berardi and Travis Tomczak join the Santa Cruz contingent as Helmet Product Manager and Goggle Product Manager respectively.
Previously the Export Sales Manager for Nidecker, a European Snowboard Company based in the European Alps, Darius Heristchian joins the Giro team as EMEA Category Manager. His role will be to orchestrate sales and marketing and manage distribution centers in Europe. Darius’s experience in e-commerce, sales, and retail development brings comprehensive experience and perspective to the Giro team and as a previous professional athlete, Darius is well versed in all aspects of the industry. Darius began his new post in November. “I found myself entering a company with great values and visionary, highly competent yet very humble managers and co-workers,” said Heristchian. “I am looking forward to being part of this great Team.”
An internal hire, Mattia Berardi, has been proving his aptitude with BRG Sports, parent company to Giro, since March 2013. Beginning in Europe as a Sales and Marketing Intern followed by a two-year period as Associate Category Manager for Giro Snow. In September, Berardi was namedHelmet Product Manager working from the California office. “With his European experience, Berardi will be able to closely guide the products and use his knowledge of the brand & European market to evolve the brand and product innovation,” said Brendan Murphey, Sr. Brand Manager for Giro Snow. “To me, working at Giro is the opportunity to be part of an unmatched creation process that brings to life new ideas to enhance the ride in the sport and culture that I have been embracing at 100 percent since I am three years old,” said Berardi.
Travis Tomczak joins the Giro team from Spy, where he held the Goggle Category Manager Position. “Travis is going to take goggles to the next level with his optical experience, insight, passion, and product development expertise,” said Murphey. “Through my professional career I’ve always admired Giro’s brand strength and commitment to innovation, while always keeping the end goal in mind of enhancing the user experience,” said Tomczak. “Giro snow has great momentum in the market space and I look forward to being a contributing member of this passionate team that will continue to grow the Giro goggle business.”
