Snowsports Helmet Leader & New York City based Street Artist Collaborate on

Limited Edition Capsule Helmet and Goggle Collection

(November, 2015– Scotts Valley, CA) – World leader in head protection for snowsports and cycling, Giro Sport Design has partnered with Romon Yang, a Brooklyn based painter, calligrapher, and filmmaker that goes by ROSTARR, to create a capsule collection that includes versions of Giro’s Combyn helmet, Blok goggle, Compass goggle and Onset goggle.

“Romon shares the same passion as Giro does for winter sports and cycling,” said Giro Snow Senior Brand Manager, Brendan Murphey. “We love the organic boldness of Romon’s work and his sophisticated aesthetic so the partnership was a natural fit. Plus, we shared a similar vision on the product design direction.”

“I’ve been riding in Giro helmets since 1993, so I knew whatever we collaborated on would be technically sound and well made,” Romon Yang said. “I definitely feel strongly about the freedom and independence that I get from creating art, whether it’s a painting or product design, I’m constantly trying to push my work further and into broader spheres and ultimately make products that are utilitarian, well designed and collectable, this co-lab provided a great opportunity.”

Products in the Giro x Rostarr Collection include: Combyn Helmet $120: designed for durability, with a low-profile, skate-inspired design, modeled for pushing progression everywhere on the mountain from park to the pipe. Soft Shell Construction means The Combyn is built to withstand the imminent impacts of jibbing, jumping, hiking, and traveling: due to its patent-pending, impact-absorbing dual density Vinyl Nitrile (VN) liner and proprietary, flexible outer shell. The Onset Goggle $150: which trail-blazed the EXV Collection and is back again to provide best-in-class crystal clear optics, Lens By ZEISS, a low profile EXV spherical semi-frameless design, and the unmatched field of view that only Expansion View Technology provides in a large sized frame variation. The Compass Goggle $150: offering the same style and features as the Onset but in a medium sized frame. The Blok Goggle ($90): combining retro-style look with advanced EXV technology to deliver an unmatched field of view through a precision Lens by ZEISS.

Brand new for this winter season and now available for sale, the GIRO x ROSTARR collaboration products can be found at select Giro Snow retailers globally as well as the company’s website www.giro.com/rostarr.
