G3’s all new Scapegoat Carbon Splitboard is a high performance powder board for experienced backcountry riders
Vancouver, B.C. (January 2015) – G3, the leading independent backcountry ski and snowboard brand, builds on the success of its Black Sheep Carbon splitboard for 2015, adding the powder-specific Scapegoat Carbon, an all-new, high performance splitboard for backcountry riders seeking steep lines and deep snow.
The Scapegoat Carbon joins the popular Black Sheep Carbon in G3’s 2015-16 splitboard collections, offering high performance boards for backcountry riders of all levels. The all-new Scapegoat Carbon features a powder directional rocker shape and a durable, lightweight, full carbon construction. It is designed for backcountry boarders riding big lines and steep descents. The all-mountain Black Sheep Carbon attracts backcountry snowboarders of all levels with its lightweight, durable carbon construction, full rocker, and versatile, performance-driven design.
“G3 started making splitboards a few years ago, so that snowboarders could easily access the backcountry, whether by taking a quick sidecoutry lap outside the resort boundary or heading deep into the mountains to find big lines and untracked powder,” said Jason Broz, G3’s new design and build manager. “With the new Scapegoat Carbon and the Black Sheep Carbon, G3 has a versatile splitboard line that offers lightweight access to riders ripping it up in the backcountry.”
Scapegoat Carbon
The Scapegoat Carbon splitboard is a powder slaying beast made specifically for big days in the backcountry. Designed with G3’s unique Powder Rocker profile which consists of a rockered nose, camber under foot, and 40 mm of taper in the tail, the Scapegoat Carbon’s tapered tail sinks to lift the nose high out of the deep snow, reducing leg burn and making deep powder fun and effortless. Additionally, the Scapegoat Carbon turns easily and is responsive in tight trees and bumps.
The Scapegoat Carbon is responsive, durable, and its lightweight, low-profile construction makes it ready to rip, up or down the mountain. G3’s Carbon Stealth Construction uses triaxial and biaxial stitched premium carbon fiber for a torsionally stiff board that can handle even the biggest, steepest lines. A lightweight Poplar Paulownia wood core gives the Scapegoat a consistent, responsive flex. The ABS/TPU sidewalls enhance power transfer and shock absorption and provide impact protection in variable conditions.
At a featherweight five pounds thirteen ounces, the Scapegoat Carbon will speed up the skin track, allowing riders to make more laps or cover more vertical without leg burn. The Scapegoat Carbon will take riders further and deeper than ever before.
Competitively Priced at $849.95. Available in 158 cm 162 cm and 166 cm lengths. (313/260/288; 5 lb. 13 oz.

Black Sheep Carbon
G3’s popular all-mountain Black Sheep Carbon is the go-to splitboard for everything from big mountain lines deep in the backcountry to short slackcountry tours out the resort gates. A full rocker construction is matched with sidecut for a super versatile, one quiver board that is fun in the powder, but can hold an edge on the hard pack. Perfect for snowboarders who are just starting to explore the backcountry or seasoned backcountry riders who want a high quality, affordable splitboard that will take them everywhere.
Built with G3’s Carbon Light Construction, the Black Sheep Carbon uses premium biaxial stitched carbon fiber making it strong, light and torsionally stable. A lightweight Poplar Paulownia wood core is sandwiched between two sheets of triaxial glass for a consistent flex and stability. ABS/TPU sidewalls provide impact resistance and power transfer from edge to edge. The Black Sheep Carbon splitboard weighs a mere seven pounds six ounces, making it just as fun on the up as it is on the down.
Competitively Priced at $699.95. Available in 154cm, 158cm, 162cm, and 168cm lengths. (300/257/292; 7 lb. 6 oz.)
