Goodhew LLC, announces they will be exhibiting at their first Summer Outdoor Retailer Trade Show next month in Salt Lake City to debut their complete line of high-performance lifestyle socks. Situated at booth 29180W, Goodhew will share their plans for building success—and their reputation—on an old-fashioned notion, a commitment to retail partners. Goodhew co-founders Thomas Lee and Jim Markley have developed an approach that focuses on delivering the highest-quality products at a smart price.

Goodhew’s key values include a dealer in-stock program in which buyers can order socks and have them shipped within two days. Most competitors require pre-season orders. To underscore its commitment to retailers, Goodhew does not conduct direct sales through its web site, www.goodhew.us.com.

“The web site is in support of our trade customers and our end consumers,” says Markley. “It exists to educate, not to compete with our partners, and offers a dealer-locator for those seeking online and brick-and-mortar locations to purchase our socks.”

Goodhew’s strategy of putting retailers first isn’t the only reason behind the success of the emerging brand. Founders Markley and Lee together have more than 20 years of experience in the outdoor and hosiery industries. Markley was vice president of sales for SmartWool® for 12 years prior to the Timberland® purchase. Lee spent eight years in hosiery manufacturing where he was the vice president of Crescent Hosiery Mills, a leading sock supplier to department and specialty store brands.

Goodhew’s pricing offers retailers industry-leading price points. The Goodhew Lucy crew sock, for example, a blend of merino wool and bamboo, retails for only $14.99. The addition of bamboo provides extra softness and sheen with natural anti-microbial properties to help control odor.

Environmental responsibility is a guiding principle at Goodhew as well. The company’s products are manufactured in the United States and the socks are made from renewable resources that include merino wool, alpaca, and bamboo. “It is our goal to do things right from the get-go,” states Markley. “We want to be giving back locally and keeping production jobs right here in the USA.”
