GORE BIKE WEAR® and Terry Bicycles Co-sponsor the 5th Annual “Wild Goose Chase” Bike Ride for Women

Cycling Event Supports Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, October 22-23, 2011

Elkton, Maryland (May 11, 2011) – GORE BIKE WEAR®, created by the inventors of
GORE-TEX® fabric technology (www.gorebikewear.com) and Terry Bicycles, the original women’s bicycling company (www.TerryBicycles.com), will once again host the annual “Wild Goose Chase” bike ride at the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in Cambridge, MD, on October 22-23, 2011. Proceeds from the ride will go toward the upkeep and conservation of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, which acts as a sanctuary for migrating birds along the Atlantic. “The Wild Goose Chase event brings together like-minded women who love being outdoors in a beautiful, natural environment that is ideal for a great ride,” said Cindy Woods, Gore Associate. “The passion for cycling is tangible in the air here. The cause is also important to us and our efforts as an enterprise around the conservation and proliferation of our precious wild areas that help to encourage more and more people to recreate outdoors.”

Over the past three years, the Wild Goose Chase has raised more than $75,000 for the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge with record numbers expected for 2011. Route options vary from 18 to 64 mile rides, and participants are also encouraged to join in wildlife tours, bike demos, and a dinner the day before the ride.
