GORE-TEX® WASATCH SKI MOUNTAINEERING RACE RETURNS TO OUTDOOR RETAILER’S ALL MOUNTAIN DEMO

Second Annual Event Supports USSMA; Open for Online Registration 

Elkton, Md, – January 07, 2015 – W. L. Gore & Associates, inventor of GORE-TEX® high performance fabric technologies, announces the 2015 GORE-TEX® Wasatch Ski Mountaineering Race will take place during the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market All Mountain Demo on Tuesday, January 20, at Solitude Mountain Resort. The race will support the U.S. Ski Mountaineering Association (USSMA) and is open to anyone over 18 and any ability level.

“We’ve continued to see growth in popularity around SkiMo racing in the US and Europe and are looking forward to extending this new tradition that added a fresh level of energy and excitement to the All Mountain Demo last year,” said Tom Boyle, Gore strategic marketing. “In partnership with Outdoor Retailer and Utah Ski Mountaineering, the race events are a fun and engaging way to support the USSMA.”

The race will begin at 2:00 pm at the base of the Moonbeam Parking Lot at Solitude and will feature short and long course options, as well as a choice of race or recreation categories. The $10 race fee supports the USSMA.

USSMA sanctions and governs competitive ski mountaineering racing in the United States and works to promote and foster recreational ski mountaineering through access, resources, education and community.
