Gramicci Introduces NPT-Natural Performance Technology for Spring 2011 Collection

AGOURA HILLS, Calif., July 28th, 2010— Gramicci, the leading brand of authentic outdoor lifestyle clothing, is excited to unveil a new line of organic, sustainably produced clothing at the Summer Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City UT, Aug 3rd through the 6th in booth 10001.

Made of NPT- Natural Performance Technology fabric, the clothing is an engineered blending of hemp, certified organic cotton and recycled polyester. Using a proprietary “double traverse” knitting method, the fabric wicks away six times more moisture than any synthetic and offer improved breathability over any competitive fabric, be it synthetic or cotton.

NPT knits also shrink less than four percent and do not torque, making them extremely durable and long lasting. Perhaps most exciting, the NPT knits Camura DT and Senna eliminate body odor due to their antimicrobial properties. Finished with Gramicci signature dyes and custom washes, these garments give you performance with attitude and that “perfectly imperfect” look for which Gramicci is famous.

The men’s “Camura DT” NPT fabric is an exclusive blend of hemp and certified organic cotton. Hemp excels because of its fiber length, strength, absorbency and antimicrobial properties. The DT “double traverse” knit provides amazing high performance ventilation and absorbs six to eight times more moisture than synthetics, allowing these natural non-synthetic fibers to keep the body cooler, drier and more comfortable. Camura is grown without the use of any herbicides and offers UPF 20 protection from harmful solar rays.

The Women’s “Senna Hemp Jersey” in the ZURI dress is a prime example of NPT performance and versatility. This deep-hooded, cap-sleeved, below-the-knee length dress features an S & Z Traverse Knitting method that produces unmatched ventilation. Gramicci will donate signature organic hemp “Camu Tees” to support the production, promotion and distribution of the film, The Last Wild Mountain.
