Outdoor hard goods manufacturer and specialty retailer Grand Trunk (www.grandtrunkgoods.com), formerly The Travel Hammock, announced today that it has acquired all United States copyrights, trademarks, inventory and assets of Ticket to the Moon USA (www.TTTMShop.com) from an independent distributor. Financial terms of the transaction were undisclosed.
As part of the acquisition, Grand Trunk will continue to serve Ticket to the Moon’s existing customer base of nearly 100 outdoors, specialty organic and health food stores while pursuing expanded distribution at other chain and specialty retailers throughout the U.S. Grand Trunk has already begun selling Ticket to the Moon’s inventory of hammocks and chemical-free, hand-rolled ayurvedic incense (a natural mosquito repellent) – both produced in Bali – on its web site under the Grand Trunk brand and has imminent plans to combine the two brands’ web sites.
“We consider Grand Trunk to be a one-stop shop for a variety of outdoor activities, from camping to backyard entertaining, so we are extremely excited to add Ticket to the Moon’s former products to our collection of outdoor essentials,†said Jon Neff, Vice President of Sales, Grand Trunk. “As we continue to expand our eco-friendly and lifestyle product lines, ayurvedic incense is an especially natural product extension.â€
A portion of proceeds from the sales of the acquired inventory will benefit the Ticket to the Moon Foundation, which was established by the company’s founders to support initiatives dedicated to improving quality of life throughout Indonesia, including building schools, roads and housing and fighting malaria.
Grand Trunk travel hammocks retail between $20 and $79.99; ayurvedic incense retails for $14.99 for a set of 16 sticks that burn for up to 90 minutes.
