Grand Trunk, the adventure travel gear company, recently partnered with The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics to clean North Avenue Beach in Chicago. The two organizations worked together with a group of volunteers to help prepare the popular and well-known beach for the busy summertime season. The effort was part of The Leave No Trace Center’s Backyard Sessions program, which travels across the country to teach locals how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly.
“We’re excited that Leave No Trace decided to visit us in Chicago, and wanted to partner with the group to enhance one of our favorite hometown attractions,†said Kevin Kaiser, president and co-founder of Grand Trunk. “It was a successful day all around – the beach looked tremendous after the clean-up and Leave No Trace was able to provide some helpful onsite education to those interested in learning more about the organization and its mission.â€
The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics teaches people of all ages how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly, and is the most widely accepted outdoor ethics program used on public lands. As the leader in sustainable recreation practices, the Center trains a nation of outdoor advocates to put Leave No Trace principles into action.
