Two Harbors, MN — July 9, 2018 – Granite Gear introduces the Blaze 60 multi-day hiking backpack, an update to their original, award-winning Blaze A.C. 60. Built to go the distance with comfort and durability, the Blaze 60 weighs only three pounds with a 50-pound load rating, making it an ideal lightweight pack for long trail hikers who may need to carry more water, food or gear.

Separating itself from the original Blaze A.C. 60, the Blaze 60 features an all new Air Current frame sheet with specific adjustment points to lock in exact torso size, as well as the Re-Fit fully adjustable dual-density hip belt. In order to access pack contents on the fly, designers added a hidden zipper on the front of the pack which acts as a secondary access point to the main roll-top compartment. Also included is a removable lid that converts to an optional chest pack to carry on the front of the pack with a DWR-treated zipper.

“Our objective has always stayed the same: develop and build packs that are cost-effective and lightweight while still offering optimal comfort, suspension, compression and exceptional durability,” said Creative Director, David Eisenberg. “Our new Blaze 60 meets all of these criteria and even more.”

The Blaze 60 also introduces Granite Gear’s custom 210D Robic high tenacity nylon inter-woven with UHMWPE triple ripstop fabric. Representing 21% of the overall material in the 210D fabric areas, the UHMWPE has been placed in load bearing and high impact and abrasion areas to make it as durable as possible.
