Granite Gear Supports Lonnie Dupre’s Adventure Film Cold Love

Two Harbors, MN – Granite Gear, manufacturer of legendary backpacks, packing systems and travel gear engineered to deliver the ultimate in function and comfort, is pleased to support athlete and polar explorer, Lonnie Dupre, in the debut of his first adventure documentary, Cold Love.

The one-hour film, featuring the dramatic beauty and life-giving forces of our Earth’s frozen places, is based primarily on Dupre’s 25 years of Arctic expeditions in Greenland, Alaska and the North Pole. The inspirational film speaks to the tenacity and perseverance needed to reach a difficult goal and is Dupre’s latest effort in bringing worldwide attention to climate change. The film is produced by Emmy award -winner, Deia Schlosberg, in conjunction with Dupre and One World Endeavors.Cold Love will premiere on November 22, 2014, at the Outdoor Adventure Expo in Minneapolis, MN.

“We produced this film and organized remote expeditions to show the beauty of the Arctic, as well as the impact of climate change and what we have to lose by not addressing it,” said Dupre. “My hope is that Cold Love will help people understand how the pole’s snow and ice essentially acts as a thermostat, reflecting the sun’s energy back into space, to keep our planet cool.”

Following the premiere of Cold Love, Dupre will once again attempt to become the first person to solo summit North America’s highest peak, Denali, in the month of January. As a major sponsor of both the film and the upcoming expedition in Alaska, Granite Gear believes in Dupres’s determination and mission of protecting Earth’s arctic lands.

Cold Love will be entered in adventure film festivals worldwide and offered on DVD and for digital download in 2015. For more information on film screenings, please visit the One World Endeavors website.
