Gregory To Introduce New Active Trail Pack Series For Spring 2012

(Salt Lake City, Utah) – Gregory, the industry leader in backpacks and adventure travel gear, announces the addition of eight new Active Trail series backpacks. The spring 2012 Active Trail line is suited for light and fast pursuits and features a variety of packs ranging from 14 to 40 liters.

“Our customers are pushing the boundaries of what can be done in a day,” says Gregory’s lead Active Trail Designer, John McGuire. “Peak-baggers, adventure racers and minimalist thru-hikers are continually trying to shave weight and we have designed our new Active Trail packs to meet the demands of these users while staying true to our philosophy of comfort and fit.”

Gregory’s new Active Trail line includes the Furyâ„¢ 40 and women’s specific Freiaâ„¢ 38 (MSRP $149), the Furyâ„¢ 32 and women’s Freiaâ„¢ 30 (MSRP $129), the Furyâ„¢ 24 and women’s Freiaâ„¢ 22 (MSRP $99), and the Furyâ„¢ 16 and women’s Freiaâ„¢ 14 (MSRP $79). All numbers refer to the specific liter size of the backpack.

By employing Gregory’s exclusive Kinetic Flexible Transfer System (FTS) suspension, the new Furyâ„¢ and women’s Freiaâ„¢ series have eliminated the need for a stay and rigid backpanel by incorporating an active, breathable suspension that significantly lowers the weight of the pack. Flexible shoulder straps and waist belts allow for unencumbered movement while a contoured foam backpanel provides support and weight transfer. Lightweight and durable 210 Dynajin and 420 nylon fabrics have been used to further reduce weight and breathable harness and waist belt designs that include mesh channels are used to help the user remain cool in warmer, more aerobic trail environments. A reverse top lid on the two larger models gives this line a very technical and unique aesthetic.

Gregory showed the S12 pack line to retailers at the summer Outdoor Retailer show that took place August 4th through August 7th in Salt Lake City, Utah.
