Whitney, Texas (December 15, 2020) — Since their official US launch this past Spring, Greyp Bikes has received considerable praise for their tech-heavy, highly connected, trail-capable E-MTB line, and they’ll close out the year on another high note: The judges at the 2021 Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards (ORIA) have named their G6.2 model a finalist in this illustrious competition for January’s virtual Winter Market.
Greyp is one of only 34 finalists out of hundreds of entries, and will receive a virtual booth throughout the online event. The final four Grand Prize winners will be announced at the ORIA ceremony taking place virtually during Outdoor Retailer Winter Online on January 21, 2021. According to the ORWM website, “The ORIA recognize the cutting edge and carefully considered products and retail services from all seasons made famous at the trade show.”
The founder of Greyp knows a thing or two about cutting-edge innovation, especially in the e-transportation realm: Mate Rimac – aka ‘Croatia’s Elon Musk’ – is also founder of Rimac Automobili (RA), the brand behind two of the fastest-accelerating cars ever to burn up a track… which also happen to be fully electric. The wealth of expertise and experience garnered from developing the highest levels of automotive and battery technology along with digital connectivity.
The result is a full-carbon trail bike with a high-tech heart and e-supercar soul. The G6.2, middle in the line’s three builds, features impressive spec with a SRAM drivetrain, Rock Shox suspension and DT-Swiss wheels.
But it’s the sophisticated technology that sets it apart from an otherwise crowded market – and makes it a favorite of the ORIA judges: That spec is backed by Greyp’s proprietary e-drive technology: a 36V, 700Wh battery, designed entirely in house, powers the 250W motor, which yields an estimated 60 miles of power-assist under normal use. But Greyp says very soon the model will be upgradeable to 460W through software updates. The motor was designed by MPF, but Greyp engineers customized the design to best fit their build and battery.
Perhaps even more standout is the host of high-tech connectivity and data offerings (when paired with the mobile app) – from front/rear built-in video cameras to full 4G and Bluetooth connectivity – that provide Silicon Valley-worthy street cred.

The 6.2 is available now in the US online and at select retailers, with an MSRPs of $8249, along with the G6.1 and G6.3 ($6999 and $8999 respectively). New hardtail models, the G5.1 and G5.2 ($5499 and $6499 respectively) are expected to follow soon.
