GSI Outdoors Taps Matt Smith to Cover Growing Alaska Market

Don Scott, co-owner of GSI Outdoors, a leading supplier of outdoor table- and cookware, announced that effective today, Matt Smith of Chugach Trading Co. will join the company to support sales and marketing efforts in the expanding Alaska Market. Matt will also represent the Outside Inside gift collection, owned and distributed by GSI Outdoors.

Matt is committed to continue building business for GSI Outdoors and Outside Inside by promoting targeted product assortments and providing exceptional service. “Matt has lived and worked in Alaska for over 25 years and received overwhelming accolades from retailers all over the state,” commented Don. “I am very confident that he will be a strong asset to our sales and marketing team.”

Smith formed Chugach Trading Co. in 2000 after eight years experience in technology marketing and sales. The company is headquartered in Anchorage and represents such prestigious outdoor brands as SportHill, Native Eyewear and Delta Kayaks. He brings a wealth of hands-on experience from personally participating in a variety of outdoor activities including kayaking, sailing, cycling and backpacking, all sports that utilize outdoor table- and cookware.
