Deer Isle, ME – Guyot Designsâ„¢, innovative creator of unique outdoor products, has been recognized by I.D. Magazine—America’s premier design publication—for outstanding product design. Guyot’s Squishy Bowls, which won an Editor’s Choice Award from Backpacker Magazine in 2007, are again recognized for their beautiful design and effortless functionality.
“We wanted the bowls to convey a sense of warmth and home no matter where a user may take them,” says Josh Guyot, the company’s founder and lead designer. “We are thrilled that I.D. Magazine has recognized them.”
The 54th Annual Design Review is the premier design competition in which projects from eight categories are judged by top designers. Categories include: Consumer Products, Graphics, Environments, Furniture, Packaging, Concepts, and Interactive Media. The Annual Design Review is America’s oldest most prestigious juried design-recognition program.
The Squishy Bowls were recognized in the Consumer Product category for their obvious functionality, ability to cram and morph into a variety of shapes, and their use of silicone.
Winning entries in the Annual Design Review will be on display at Parsons, The New School of Design in New York July 9th through September 28th. For more information on the exhibition please visit www.newschool.edu/johnsondesigncenter.
