(Boulder, CO) January 22, 2014— In Fall 2014, premium German boot company Hanwag rounds out its extensive outdoor footwear collection with three winter silhouettes. The winter product selection offers boots for every activity, from cold weather trekking, to niche categories, such as Alpine climbing. Combining handmade craftsmanship, technical innovation, durable materials and a comfortable fit that requires no break-in period, the line is built to perform in the harshest conditions. New boots in the Hanwag Fall-Winter 2014 collection ranges in price from $250.00 to $275.00 and will be available in September at outdoor specialty stores in North America and at www.hanwag.com.

NEW PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS

YAK COLLECTION

Sourced from the Lhasa Leather Factory in Tibet, Hanwag’s Yak Collection uses robust, hydrophobic yak leather to create an exceptionally hard-wearing, yet surprisingly supple boot. The Tudela Winter GTX® and the Lhamo GTX® join as new offerings in the Yak line.

Tudela Winter GTX® | $275.00

The Tudela Winter GTX® is a lightweight, mid-cut hiking boot best suited for rocky terrain. The upper blends waxed Terracare ZERO® nubuck and durable Yak leathers for a hardwearing boot. The design is equipped with a GORE-TEX® Partelana wool-blend lining, ensuring warmth in cold temperatures. A padded, fleece-lined cuff at the collar provides extra cushioning and helps to further seal out the elements. The Tudela Winter GTX® features Hanwag’s StraightFit construction that provides more space for the toes by allowing the big toe to assume a straighter position. The boot is also equipped with Hanwag’s signature IceGrip outsole. The IceGrip sole offers enhanced traction on hard ice, snow or wet surfaces. The IceGrip sole embeds microscopic glass particles into the boot’s rubber tread blocks. These fine particles scratch into the surface of the ice to provide maximum friction and a secure grip. The boot is offered in two colorways: Erde (Brown) and Asche (Dark Grey).

Lhamo GTX® + Lhamo Lady GTX® | $275.00

The Lhamo GTX® and Lhamo Lady GTX® blend robust Yak leather and premium felts in a fashionable calf-length winter boot. Wool-blend GORE-TEX® Partelana linings provide warmth and breathability. The model is designed with Hanwag’s StraightFit last, providing more space for the toes by allowing the big toe to assume a straight position. An all-round rubber rand adds durability and provides protection against rocky surfaces. The Lhamo GTX® also features Hanwag’s signature IceGrip outsole, making the boot ideal for icy and snow-covered terrain. A medial zipper with inner flap allows for ease of entry and helps seal out the cold. The boot will be offered in the Schwarz (Black) colorway for both men and women.

Lunta Lady GTX® | $250.00

The Lunta Lady GTX® pairs a tall, lace-up boot shaft, premium leathers and Fjällräven’s signature waxed G-1000® Heavy Duty hybrid fabrication for a high-end, resort-inspired winter boot. A full, GORE-TEX® insulated lining, combined with a seam-sealed waterproof construction, a removable thermo footbed and a wool-blend knit cuff at the collar, lend to maximum warmth in harsh winter conditions. The boot is equipped with Hanwag’s signature IceGrip technology offering increased traction in icy conditions. The boot will be offered in Erde (Brown), Schwarz (Black) and Ashe (Dark Grey).
