SEATTLE, Wash. – February 1, 2018
Hayter Communications, a Williams-Helde company, has expanded its service offerings with the addition of two new hires in its Seattle office. Andy Cochrane joins as content strategy director for the agency’s burgeoning video, photo and storytelling client base; and Matt Glass is leading a new Overlanding/Powersports division.
Cochrane spent the previous two and a half years with Oru Kayak serving as Marketing Director for the brand where he developed some of the active lifestyle industry’s most innovative content, influencer, digital and media relations programs. He simultaneously organized personal projects that went viral such as relay running around the entirety of the island of Hawaii, a 3,300-bike relay from SF to Anchorage, and running with friends across Bears Ears to film and raise awareness about public lands. Prior to Oru he developed multiple marketing programs in the high-tech industry.
“Andy is a force in the outdoor industry,” said Ryan Hayter, president, HayterComm. “He is super versatile and is well known for being one step ahead when it comes to storytelling and finding unique, effective ways to connect with consumers. Demand for his skill set is high from our current client base and brands that are knocking on our door. We anticipate continued rapid growth in the content realm through his ideas and leadership.”
Matt Glass comes to HayterComm after spending over a decade working in the overland and off-road industry, the majority of that handling the North American marketing and PR for ARB 4×4 Accessories, the Australian 4×4 giant. He’s an insider in the overland and powersports market and instrumental part in landing an all-encompassing, extensive marketing contract with Dometic on behalf of HayterComm in 2017.
An ecologist by training, he eventually traded in deer skulls for the motorsports and off-road industry. During a stint in the Rockies as a program manager for Stay the Trail, he tackled almost every 4×4 trail in Colorado while coordinating volunteer efforts to maintain and repair trails there. Recent overland adventures (and work) have taken him from Moab, to the Mojave, and across the Australian outback.
HayterComm’s reach into the overland space is on a rapid ascent. The agency, through Glass’s connections, will be representing Dometic, Rhino-Rack, Patriot Campers, Warn Industries, and James Baroud rooftop tents in a HayterComm-exclusive space with a completely kitted overland vehicle and Patriot trailer in the main lobby of Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show in Denver, January 25-28. All of HayterComm’s winter sports, outdoor and active lifestyle clients will be featured in the high-profile space.
HayterComm, founded in 2001, was acquired by Williams Helde Marketing Communications in Seattle in May 2017 and collectively offers a comprehensive suite of branding and marketing solutions for start-ups to multi-billion dollar corporations in the outdoor, wintersports, active lifestyle, tech, medical and consumer product industries.
