Cincinnati, Ohio-Headsweats today announced an exclusive two-year deal to provide bike enthusiasts in the United States and Australia with the official hat of the Tour de France.

Long a favorite of cyclists, runners and triathletes, Headsweats has established a significant market presence for performance-based headwear by using advanced research, materials and manufacturing processes. The Le Tour de France-licensed headwear covers ten headwear items, including technical hats, caps, and visors.

According to Frédéric Viargues, Chef de Groupe Commercial et Licences Service Marketing Operationnel of Amaury Sport Organization, said, “We are pleased to have the quality product that Headsweats produces and an ability to deliver product on a timely basis to the American public.”

The Tour de France contract enhances a stable of high-profile license deals for Headsweats, which include Ironmanâ„¢ and Ironman 70.3â„¢, as well as a wide range of custom work for companies like GU, Clif, LaSportiva and Timex.

For Alan Romick, the company’s founder and a veteran of such tours as the RAGBRAI, the deal has a personal resonance, “I’ve been cycling for longer than most bike companies have been around, and the Tour de France is not only the pinnacle of cycling races, it is the most valuable brand in cycling, period. We’re
excited to offer the Tour’s official hat, and hope our customers wear it with pride this summer.”

Made from 100% cotton twill or Coolmaxâ„¢, the official headwear is embroidered with the Tour’s official logo and comes in two colorways highlighting the event’s official color schemes of yellow, black and white.

Headsweats was founded in the winter of 1998 by shoe industry veteran and avid cyclist, Alan Romick. For over a decade, Romick and his team at Headsweats have been working unrelentingly to bring the most cutting-edge, innovative and stylish headwear products to new markets.

The Tour de France hats, with a suggested retail price of $20 – $22.00, are available now at all retail outlets selling Headsweats products, including Performance Bikes and REI. For more information on Headsweats, please visit www.Headsweats.com
