Health+Fitness Business Expo Selects Mandalay Bay as New Home for TradeShow
Beginning in 2013, the new venue will give the annual retail fitness industry tradeshow new opportunities to enhance the show experience
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. – June 12, 2012 – Organizers of the Health+Fitness Business Expo (HFB) announced that they have signed a three-year agreement with the Mandalay Bay Convention Center (MBCC) to host the retail fitness industry’s premier tradeshow beginning in 2013 and continuing through 2015. HFB believes that the move to the MBCC will provide exhibitors with improved ROI and deliver an enhanced experience for its attendees. The 2013 HFB show will be held from September 18 – 20, 2013.
HFB 2012 is shaping up to be one of the best shows to date. The company recently announced plans to broaden the scope of the expo by adding the light commercial market alongside retail. Industry veteran Therese Iknoian recently partnered with HFB and created advisory panels made up of exhibitors and retailers, which drove the new direction of the show. Combining the two categories will make HFB a valuable one-stop-shop for home retail and light commercial manufacturers and attendees.
“Moving to the MBCC will allow us to create an even more dynamic event for the market,†said Pat Hus, HFB’s managing director. “Our goal for the show is the constant pursuit of improvement, and this is a vital step in that quest. We’re looking forward to being able to reinvent the show by adding more events and celebrations at the MBCC. Additionally, there are several great attractions at the MBCC including the House of Blues, Mandalay Beach, 28 full-service restaurants, a greater hotel selection that meets every budget, casinos, and more. We will be creating new events and activities all with the idea of keeping us together and engaged more in one location.â€
The MBCC will also allow the HFB team and its exhibitors the opportunity to create a new floor plan with better traffic flow patterns making it easier to shop the show. Exhibitors will benefit in 2013 from an improved move-in and move-out experience due to the increased number of loading docks and freight doors.
Show organizers will be setting up a page on the HFB website with more details and information about the move to the MBCC. This page will be updated with new information as it becomes available.
The MBCC first opened in 2003 and is among the nation’s largest and most modern event facilities, offering 1.7 million square feet of exhibit and meeting space. As part of MGM Resorts International, it is conveniently connected to the Mandalay Bay Hotel and THEhotel. The venue is easily accessible by a range of other hotels that will also be offered through HFB’s hotel room block.
Through its innovative design and operating practices, the newer convention center generates a lower environmental impact that is more in-line with the fitness industry’s sustainability values. They have been awarded a 5-Green Key Eco-Rating which covers many operational areas as well as sustainable practices throughout the facility. In addition, an average of 81% of all convention waste is recycled.
