Berkeley, CA-He(a)rd Sports Marketing and HAWI Management have partnered to represent 2015 World 100K Champion, Camille Herron.
On September 12th, 2015, Camille Herron led a powerful American women’s team to the IAU World 100K Championship title in Winschoten, Holland. In doing so, she also took home the individual title, with a scorching fast time of 7:08:35 (the 4th fastest 100K time in history) and clocked a 50-mile split of 5:38, nearly two minutes under the current World Record for 50 miles.
Herron made her ultramarathon debut at the 2013 Two Oceans Ultramarathon in Cape Town, South Africa, where she finished 10th.
A relative newcomer to ultramarathons, Herron has distinguished herself as a road marathoner, qualifying for the Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier three times (2008, 2012, 2016) and representing the United States at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, where she finished 9th (1st American). She has 20 marathon victories to her credit, including: the OKC Memorial Marathon (2012, 2014, 2015), Mercedes Marathon (2011, 2013), Route 66 Marathon (2012), Napa Valley Marathon (2011) and the Dallas White Rock Marathon (2010).
In April 2015, Herron traveled from her home in Warr Acres, Oklahoma to Wisconsin to compete in the Mad City 100K, the U.S. National Championship race. In Madison, Herron clocked the fastest-ever 100K-time on U.S. soil (7:26:24) and was rewarded with her first National Championship title and the honor of representing the United States in Holland.
This past weekend (October 24), Herron confirmed her dominance on the roads with another National Championship title at the Fall 50 Miler in Door County, Wisconsin. Her time of 5:38:41, set in wet and windy conditions, is the fastest time ever run by a woman. Due to the point-to-point nature of the course, the time will not be officially recognized as a World Record.
“We are delighted to be working with Camille,” commented He(a)rd Sports Marketing CEO, Ethan Veneklasen. “She has already proven that she can compete at a variety of distances from the marathon to 100K and has proven to be a VERY tough competitor. It’s going to be exciting to watch Camille make the transition to the trails.”
In 2016, Herron will make her trail running debut at the Lake Sonoma 50 in April. She will continue to race on the road (both marathons and ultras), but will be focusing her training to compete on the competitive trail ultra circuit.
“I’ve followed Camille’s career for years. It is an honor to have Camille join the HAWI Management roster,” noted HAWI Management Director, Merhawi Keflezighi.
When she’s not running, Camille Herron is a Research Assistant in osteoimmunology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and is an avid home brewer. She is married to (and coached by) Conor Holt, Head Track and Cross Country Coach at Oklahoma City University.
Herron is sponsored by: MarathonGuide.com, Skechers and Powerbar.
