Outdoor Offspring is a new book by Eugene Buchanan which extends parents a helping hand in getting their kids active in the outdoors. The book is also a fund raiser for the Outdoor Foundation.

Oct 1, 2009, Beachburg, Ontario – The game is on to get today’s kids off video games and into the great outdoors, and so The Heliconia Press is excited to introduce Outdoor Offspring – A Guide to Getting Your Kids Active in the Great Outdoors. Outdoor Offspring is a book written by award-winning author, Eugene Buchanan, for which a portion of all sales benefits the Outdoor Foundation and their efforts to grow youth participation in outdoor recreation.

Outdoor Offspring extends parents a helping hand in getting their kids outside and active by providing an informative and entertaining look at biking, camping, swimming, paddling, fishing, snowsports, hiking, climbing, and more.

Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder, calls Outdoor Offspring “An excellent beginner’s guide to help parents instill in their kids a love of outdoor activities.”, while Frank Hugelmeyer, President of the Outdoor Industry Association describes Outdoor Offspring as “A fun and informative guide that will help families experience a lifetime of wonder in the great outdoors.”
