March 28, 2013 (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) – Helinox by DAC, a leader in lightweight trekking poles and camp furniture, has been awarded a 2013 Red Dot Design Award for its Chair ONE. The international Red Dot jury recognized Helinox with the sought-after award for the superior design quality of the Chair One, a lightweight foldable camp chair.
“Design is at the heart of Helinox’s product development philosophy and this award is a testament to the hard work of our team,” said Jake Lah, Helinox founder and president. “We are thrilled that the Chair One is once again being recognized for it’s excellent design, having previously been honored with the ISPO Award in February.”
The Chair ONE combines comfort with a lightweight construction to make it extremely versatile. The red dot design award is one of the world’s largest and most distinguished design competitions, receiving more than 15,000 entries from 70 countries annually. A jury of renowned specialists from around the world identifies the final selection from a range of product design and architecture, represented in 19 categories. The results of the judging process thus reflect the future of the respective industry and create trends and direction for manufacturers, designers and consumers around the world. They serve as a benchmark and emphasize the link between a sustainable design policy and economic success.
