Industry Veteran Named as Director, Commercial Business Development, Eastern Region
(Boston, MA – August 25, 2014) Helix, the world’s leading manufacturer of Lateral Training fitness equipment, announced today that long-time fitness industry executive John Dobbie was assuming the newly created position of Director, Commercial Business Development for its Eastern Region.

Scott Logan, Helix VP Sales & Marketing, stated:
“We could not be more pleased and excited to have someone with John’s extensive experience and expertise join the Helix team. John is a proven performer with some of the leading brands in the fitness industry and has been a key player in helping companies like StairMaster, Strive, Nautilus, and Expresso Fitness build their businesses.
“John is a top-tier professional who brings both the knowledge and skills that Helix needs to help manage the explosive growth we are experiencing. Plus, of course, John also has the industry awareness and contacts to help reach the regional and national customers needed to sustain our growth path.”
John, who has been actively engaged in the fitness industry for over 28 years, comes to Helix after six years with FreeMotion Fitness as their Eastern Regional Sales Manager. In addition to positions with a number of major equipment brands, early in his career John coached both high school and collegiate athletes in baseball, wrestling, and football which helped develop the strong team philosophy he has subsequently demonstrated.
John is a graduate of the University of Tampa and currently resides in the Tampa area with wife Darcy. John and Darcy have two sons, Josh and Jordan, both of whom graduated from Florida State University after playing football in that school’s vaunted program under Coach Bobby Bowden. It’s interesting to note that John’s team skills extend to the next generation, as both sons are currently in the fitness industry as well.
