Helle of Norway Introduces New Scandinavian
Folding Knife
The Bleja folding knife debuts at the 2017 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market trade show
Holmedal, Norway – (January 10, 2017) –Helle of Norway, crafters of naturally beautiful, rugged knives made in the age-old Nordic tradition, introduces the new Bleja folding knife at the 2017 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Inspired by the fjords and mountainous landscapes of Holmedal, the new knife takes its name from the massive Bleja peak that rises from the deep pool waters of the fjord to a 4,278ft summit, boasting views of the ocean, fjords, mountains, and glaciers. Helle’s new folder captures the essence of this demanding mountain, which requires total immersion into the natural world and a dauntless spirit to match the rocky and remote Norwegian terrain.
“There are no shortcuts to summit a peak as rugged as Bleja,” notes Torodd Helle, owner of Helle of Norway. “The very difficulty of the path is also the necessity of the path. The philosophy of Helle’s new folding knife is the same: no machine or automated processes can replace skilled craftsmanship.”
Helle’s new folding knife stays true to the brand’s distinctive look and passion for functional knives. The Bleja has been painstakingly developed over the last three years, taking time to perfect a new platform for Helle folding knives. The locking mechanism and full liners offers a strong and reliable utility folder, while at the same time preserving the iconic Helle look and feel.
All the standard features of a Helle fixed blade are tucked into this compact yet robust mid-sized utility knife for everyday carry. Honorin g the Scandinavian methods of combining simplicity, elegance and function, painstakingly crafted to illuminate the alluring natural materials.
Featuring a drop point blade made of Helle’s renowned triple laminated stainless steel with a razor sharp Scandinavian grind, the Bleja dispatches cutting tasks with ease. The natural curly birch wood ensures that each knife has its own unique look and no two Helle knives are ever exactly the same.
