Today Helly Hansen and Nikwax announced a new partnership to enhance the care and performance life of garments. Helly Hansen’s professional-grade Sport and Workwear products are used in some of the most demanding environments on the planet. By utilizing Nikwax’s safe and proven technical cleaning and waterproofing products, customers can be assured longer lasting and better performance out of the propriety Helly Tech garments.

Building on Helly Hansen’s strengths of working with professionals around the globe, the partnership will start with collaboration on resort uniforms. Beginning this winter, Helly Hansen resort uniform partners will have access to Nikwax care, cleaning and treatment for Helly Tech uniform garments. Nikwax is the recommended aftercare of Helly Hansen apparel.

“Helly Hansen outfits more than 50,000 ski resort professionals and mountain guides around the world who depend on the durability and performance of our products on a daily basis,” said Oliver Flaser, Category Managing Director for Professional Services. “Nikwax is the industry leader in environmental stewardship and after care performance and is the ideal product for extending the life of Helly Hansen’s outerwear to ensure anyone wearing our product on the job can perform at their very best.”

President of Nikwax North America, Rick Meade said, “From the professionals on the mountains, the oceans and worksites, Helly Hansen has a long history of outfitting people in the most demanding environments. Nikwax looks forward to the application challenges and delivering the highest performance with the lowest impact.”

Together, Nikwax and Helly Hansen are committed to delivering the highest performance with minimal environmental impacts – moving away from PFC based Durable Water Resistant (DWR) coatings. Nikwax has pioneered this move from polluting PFC water repellents, and continues to demonstrate that high performance waterproofing can be achieved with minimum environmental effect.
