LONDON–GSI Commerce Inc. (Nasdaq: GSIC), the leading provider of e-commerce solutions, today announced a new partnership with the Helly Hansen retail group. GSI will develop and operate international online stores in eight European countries as well as the United States and Canada. The web stores are scheduled to launch during early 2010 and will be Helly Hansen’s first move to sell merchandise directly online.

Under the agreement, GSI will provide an e-commerce solution that includes web technology, order processing and call centre services for each store. Web stores will be tailored to the specific country in which they operate and GSI will localise country specific components of the solution. The sites will be built in several languages and five currencies.

Peter Sjølander, Chief Executive Officer for Helly Hansen, commented, “E-Commerce is hugely important to us and a key aspect of our strategy for international growth. GSI Commerce has a terrific reputation in the marketplace for providing e-commerce services to leading brands. After evaluating all of the alternatives, GSI was the clear winner. As the largest provider of e-commerce services in the world, GSI works with the leading global consumer brands and GSI’s expertise will be critical in helping us deliver our successful multichannel strategy. GSI’s leading capabilities covering both Europe and North America gives us confidence that our web stores will consistently delight our customers in those geographies.”

We are delighted to work with Helly Hansen, a clear leader with a history that extends more than 100 years.
