High Peak USA Expands Their Lightweight “Alpinizmo” Collection

High Peak, provider of high quality camping, hiking and outdoor gear is announcing the expansion of its popular Alpinizmo lightweight gear with the addition of three Rapid Backpacks and three Lightning backpacks. The Rapid 50, Rapid 40, and Rapid 35 are all specially designed as lightweight packs and are well suited for backcountry skiing, long treks and paddling excursions. Lightning 50, Lightning 40 and Lightning 28 are geared toward the three season trekking and camping user.

Alpinizmo Rapid 50
Ideally suited as a ski pack, the Rapid 50 is a solid backpack constructed with high performance 1000D PU polyester on the bottom of the pack for added durability. Skis are held in place on the sides of the pack by a heavy-duty web strap and a double locking compression strap secured by a special locking buckle that holds it all together. The top and bottom compartments of the pack are separated with a zippered shelf that, when open, becomes a single compartment rucksack. The back panel sports a rapid glide adjustment system that will fit a user from an extra small to extra large. The Rapid 50 pack also provides large zippered pockets on each side of the waist belt, an adjustable sternum strap with a built in emergency whistle and adjustable load lifter straps connecting the top of the pack to the shoulder straps. Alpinizmo Rapid 40
Made with high performance fabrics, the Rapid 40 is designed with rugged 1000D PU high performance polyester on the bottom of the pack for durability. The front panel features a bungee cord tie-down system running from top to bottom of the panel with two ski or trekking pole straps on either side. The back panel sports a “vario” adjustment system that will fit a user from a small size up to large. The Rapid 40 provides zippered pockets on each side of the waist belt, an adjustable sternum strap with a built in emergency whistle and adjustable load lifter straps. The internal frame sheet is supported by a strong but lightweight aluminum “Y” stay system designed to carry loads without putting extra weight on the users back. Weight: 3lbs 10oz. MSRP: $134.00

Alpinizmo Rapid 35
For those who prefer a smaller pack for a day in the backcountry, the Rapid 35 is an ideal option. The top and bottom compartments are separated by a drawstring shelf that when open becomes a single compartment rucksack. The front panel has a long vertical zippered compartment with two ski or trekking pole straps on either side. Skis are held in place with a heavy-duty web strap and a double locking compression strap. The adjustable back panel makes the pack fit a user from a small up to large. The foam padding on the shoulder straps, the back panel and the detachable waist belt are covered by a durable mesh for added ventilation. The Rapid 35 also provides zippered pockets on the waist belt, an adjustable sternum strap with emergency whistle, and adjustable load lifter straps connecting the top of the pack to the shoulder straps. With its sturdy internal frame sheet, the Rapid 35 is supported by a very strong but light weight aluminum “Y” stay system designed to carry loads without putting extra weight on the users back. Alpinizmo Lightning 28
The lightest pack in the collection the Lightning 28 is just less than two pounds and is ideal for long hikes when a heavy pack becomes a nuisance. Made with premium materials for a quality pack, the Lightning 28 has a single compartment 17″ tall body and is made of red high performance polyester. The bottom is made with durable 1000D PU polyester. The cavity of the rucksack is protected by a draw-string cover as well as the top lid. For winter camping and hiking there is a bungee ice ax holder on the front as well. The sides of the pack feature fully laced bungee stuff straps and heavy-duty bottle holsters. Weight: 1lbs 11oz. Alpinizmo Lightning 40
A great light-weight option for long treks as an avid or armature camper, the Lightning 40 is red rip stop nylon with black mini rip stop nylon highlights and 1000d PU polyester for the bottom. Similar to the Lightning 50, the 40 holds a draw string cover over the main compartment and a back panel “vario”adjustment system that will fit a user from a small size up to large. A perfect hiking companion, the Lightning 40 has an adjustable sternum strap with a built in emergency whistle and adjustable load lifter straps connecting the top of the pack to the shoulder straps. Alpinizmo Lightning 50
Ideal for long treks and camping all year long, the Lightning 50 is the perfect companion for the avid adventurer. The body is made of black 600D high performance polyester with top and bottom compartments that are separated by a draw-string shelf that when open becomes a single compartment rucksack. The top lid has an external zippered compartment, accessed from the back. There is also a draw-string cover over the main compartment with a deep vertical zippered compartment on each side of the pack. Lightning 50’s back panel sports a “vario”adjustment system that will fit a user from a small size up to large.
