Vancouver, BC (December 8, 2014)- Hillsound Equipment– the leading producer of winter and fishing footwear traction and gaiters for urban and outdoor enthusiasts- announced the addition of Vancouver native Jeff Pelletier to their ambassador team.

Growing up, Pelletier spent time hiking and camping in his local mountains. He participated in various sports, but none of them held his attention for long. It wasn’t until he ran his first road marathon in 2009 that Pelletier realized his great passion for running. In 2013 he found his true calling for trail and ultra distance running after competing in the Tai Po Mountain Half-Marathon, part of The North Face® King of the Hills Mountain Marathon Series.

“I’m so honored to be part of the Hillsound family. Once I discovered my love for technical running, I realized that I needed traction devices to keep me from falling while training,” said Pelletier. “That’s why Hillsound’s products are so awesome. They’re lightweight, so they don’t slow me down and they keep me upright and moving fast on icy or slick trails.”

“We are so excited to have Jeff as an ambassador for our brand,” said Hillsound Marketing Director Jessica Greinke. “He is such a dedicated athlete and has competed in an impressive list of races. We knew he would be the perfect addition to our athlete team.”

A member of Salomon’s athlete team, Pelletier has competed in numerous road marathons and ultra marathons ranging from 50 kms to 100 miles, including the recent Chimera 100 Mile race. He enjoys spending time training in the backcountry, while tackling a growing list of adventure runs including the Grand Canyon double-crossing and the 93-mile Wonderland Trail around Mt. Rainier.
