Richmond, CA (January 14, 2014) – HOKA ONE ONE®, designers of the revolutionary oversized cushioned running shoe with engineered midsole geometry and a division of Deckers Outdoor Corporation (NASDAQ : DECK), is proud to announce the addition of Sage Canaday, Michael Morton, and Michael Wardian to its elite running team.

Always strong in mountain trail ultras, especially on the uphills, 28-year old Sage Canaday is a 2-time U.S. Olympic marathon trials qualifier who is known for his toughness in mountain trail ultras. Canaday had a great year in 2013, setting the course record at the 2013 USATF 100k National Trail Championship and the American record for the Mount Washington Hill Climb. He also took first place in the Cayuga Trails 50-miler in June, and first place in the Speedgoat 50K last July. 

 A dominant presence on the ultra marathon circuit, Michael Morton has won almost every 100-mile race he has entered in the last two years. Highlights include his January 2012 win at the 100-mile Long Haul race in Florida with a record-setting time of 13:18:58. Later that year, Morton won the Badwater Ultra Marathon, recognized globally as “the world’s toughest foot race.” The race covers 135 miles non-stop from Death Valley to Mt. Whitney, California, in temperatures up to 130 Fahrenheit, making it one of the most demanding and extreme running races on the planet. In 2013 Morton won the Iron Horse 100-mile race in Florida and the Rocky Raccoon 100-mile race in Texas.

Also joining the HOKA ONE ONE athlete team is Michael Wardian, who, like Canaday, excels in both marathons and ultra-marathons. Wardian was a participant in the U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon in 2012 , and at the trials clocked in a personal record marathon time of 2:17. Additionally, he was the IAU Ultra Runner of the Year in 2010, and a four time USATF Ultra Runner of the Year in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011.
